The BCS Migration Starter Kits are not ready-to-go project
plans; they need some amount of tailoring, such as:
- Project start date must be updated.
- Resource names must be changed to those of your staff.
- Upgrade tasks that are unique to your installation must
be added.
- Tasks may need to be reassigned from one individual to
another.
- Any tasks that are added, deleted, or reassigned must
be re-linked to predecessor and successor tasks.
- Many other changes may be useful, such as changing
chart format, producing additional reports, etc.
In addition, estimates of the person hours required to
complete tasks have not been rigorously analyzed nor verified. Due to the wide
variation in skills and experience of persons in our trade, the time tasks take
can vary by a factor of several times. These estimates should not be used as
specific expectations, only as gross approximations.
Project plans are provided in MS Project or PDF format,
but the PDF version is more difficult to edit, and does not have many of the
functions in the MS Project Migration Starter Kits including use of the
hyperlinks. Acrobat is needed for tailoring PDF Migration Starter Kits.
The following conditions apply to the Migration Starter Kits:
- The Migration Starter Kits are copyrighted by, and are
the intellectual property of Best Customer Solutions, Inc.
- The Migration Starter Kits are sold "as is",
with no warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
- BCS will make a "best effort" attempt to correct known errors, and to update
plans as hyperlinks or products change (a new release, a PTF adds or changes
function in existing releases, etc.).
- The Migration Starter Kits may not be sold, rented, or
transferred in any way to any other organization.
- In no event will Best Customer Solutions, Inc. be
liable for any damages, claims, or costs of any sort.
